Lesson Plan Format

The lesson plans are connected to the applicable LEARNING STANDARDS from each AUTHOR(S) resident state or the National Standards. When adapting a plan to your state¹s Learning Standards, use the INTERDISPLINARY AREAS list as well as your own state leaning standards.

(See the following websites for assistance)

Each lesson plan is connected to one or more content areas; English Language Arts, Fine and Performing Arts, International Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Technology. In each plan, a LESSON PREVIEW, LEARNING GOALS and a MATERIALS AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES list allows for an overview of the plan. The user is then guided through PREPARING THE STUDENTS and THE LESSON PLAN. Each plan also includes EXTENDING THE LESSON and EVALUATING THE LESSON sections.

All lessons contain a BIBLIOGRAPHY, which may include annotated references for Publications, Recordings, Software, Videos and Web Resources. In any lesson plan, when you see the option to download SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS it means that the resource is available in PDF format only. To obtain this document the user must REGISTER with TeachOpera.

We encourage you to consult the LESSON PLAN SNAPSHOTS for a quick overview of all the lesson plans currently available on TeachOpera. The snapshots are sorted in alphabetic order by opera title.
